The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house by using a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house income isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and here not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
